About Me

I began my writing career at age five, when my parents found me writing all over my little brother!  When they asked what I was doing, I said, “Timmy thought he was a piece of paper.” To Timmy’s relief, I now use a computer to write. Today, I am a teacher and author, chasing creativity, kindness, faith, coffee, and chocolate.

Along with writing books for both children and adults, I’ve also been teaching writing and speech at my local two-year college for about twenty-five years. Since reading and writing are two of my favorite adventures, I feel blessed to work with student writers and to do some writing of my own.

My hope is that readers searching for family-friendly stories will find a home in my writing, and students searching for inspiration and encouragement will find a springboard to storytelling in my classes.

I live in Wisconsin with my husband, Chris, one high-schooler, and two college kids who often find their way home.  My favorites include books; travel; church; sunny days; crunchy, colorful fall leaves; Christmas tree lights; family adventures; Ireland; mochas; and chocolate chip mint ice cream.
