Books for Children

Five Generations. One Magical Scrapbook. She struggled to find her voice–until she heard theirs.

Moving in the middle of the school year is tough—especially when you add frizzy red hair, freckles, and an outdated family name no one can pronounce. Eleven-year-old Roisin (row-sheen) knows this all too well. Within the chaos is one constant—her maternal grandmother, Gran. While unpacking, Roisin finds a scrapbook. From the tingle that moves up her arm when she touches it to Gran’s explanation when she asks about it, Roisin discovers this is no ordinary book. Starting with Roisin the First, her grandmothers have experienced the Irish potato famine, the homestead act, women’s suffrage, World War II, and the launch of Sally Ride’s space shuttle. Through the magic of the scrapbook, Roisin is about to meet each of them—and they might just change her life forever. Published by the Aisling Books imprint of Winged Publications in 2025.

Originally published by a small press called Guardian Angel Publishing, Little Isaac’s Big Adventure came out in 2012. When Guardian Angel Publishing closed, I purchased the art rights and began a self-publishing adventure.

Long ago, families lived in lighthouses, where they worked night and day to care for the house and keep the light burning. When lighthouses became automated, everything changed. A story of life-long friendship between a boy and the lighthouse where he was raised.

”This is a sweet story kids and lighthouse lovers (like me) will enjoy, especially when they find out it’s based on a real place. Both writing and illustrations are lovely.”
–Rosi Hollinbeck, The Write Stuff

This story was originally titled Caleb’s Lighthouse and published by a small press called Guardian Angel Publishing in 2017. When Guardian Angel Publishing closed, I purchased the art rights, re-titled this story at the request of the lighthouse director, and continued my self-publishing adventure.
